Dog Bandana Business Unit (Grades 7-12)

$26.95

This unit is designed as a practical, real-world project rather than a simple craft activity. Students develop sewing skills alongside enterprise thinking, informative and procedural writing, and clear presentation skills through the creation of a product that fits naturally within a dog walking business model.

Students move through research, design, production and communication, building both a finished product and supporting business materials.

At the centre of the project is the development of a sewn dog bandana as a core product. Students also have the option to extend their work into additional items such as a dog jacket, dog socks or a poop bag carrier, allowing for deeper exploration without overcomplicating the main task.

By the end of the unit, students produce a complete portfolio demonstrating planning, design, production, pricing, branding and reflection. This includes a finished product, design documentation, sizing and pattern notes, written product information, promotional material, costing and a final presentation piece, providing strong, well-rounded evidence of applied learning.
